In Catalan mythological tradition, the aloges — water women — are beings that inhabit the thresholds of the physical world, among wells, rivers, and various bodies of water.
The liminal space the aloges inhabit, that liquid border between the myth or and reality, is the very same space that gives meaning to the practice of Laia Estruch (Barcelona, 1981), who makes her body a vehicle to connect the natural world with the spiritual world, examining the sculptural capacity of sound while creating surfaces that allow her to understand the relationship with material space from different perspectives.
