Biography

Fátima Moreno (Granada, 1980) lives and works in Granada.

She explores painting and drawing through their most personal forms of expression. Rooted in Andalusian folklore and voice, her rich and distinctive imagery, with its lines and graphic gestures, unfolds across a wide variety of dreamlike and psychedelic worlds.

For her, drawing is the embodiment of the physical sensations evoked by a body in transformation, or by one that has already been transformed, disorganized, contracted, or twisted. This internal bodily torsion is relieved through drawing, which gives material form to the sensation. Many of her works respond to the idea of drawing as a practice of inner transformation not only intellectual, but physical. Literally physical. Yet it is also true that not all of her drawings are transcendental manifestations; sometimes they are simply observations that, through humor, offer a perspective on an isolated fact, action, or event.
