La Sala de Arte Joven presents the exhibition “Una resistencia indetectable” (“An Undetectable Resistance”) by Paula Noya de Blas, one of the winning projects of the 17th edition of “Se busca comisario”, which promotes new curatorial models and facilitates access to the professional world for young curators.
Work now organizes a large part of our way of life. Through mechanisms that regulate time, the body, and desire, criteria of efficiency, performance, and availability are established that permeate both the workplace and affective relationships, ways of inhabiting space, and subjectivities. In this context, skin, muscles, the nervous system, and emotions partly constitute what we understand today as the productive body. But how do we inhabit the body when efficiency has colonized almost all forms of life? What happens when the body ceases to produce, and what forms of life can be sustained beyond that limit?
The exhibition explores the latent capacity of bodies to resist extractive logics that seek to maximize their performance, discipline, and utility, through the work of Nora Aurrekoetxea, Noela Covelo, Dj_Sônia (Ángela Millano and Blanca Gómez Terán), Jota Mombaça, Julia Spínola, Ura / Unz, Marta van Tartwijk, and Lou Vives. This force does not take the form of outright rejection, but rather operates as a reappropriation of time, desire, and ways of inhabiting space.
